Every brand in this blog post offers swimwear up to a size 3X and many of them go up to 5X and 6X. While this is not a complete list of size inclusive sustainable swimwear brands, this is a great starting place.

Versatile & Adjustable Color-blocked Swimwear

HDH swimwear is designed to be versatile. Some tops have adjustable ties as straps, allowing you to change them for comfort or style. Some tops also have a tie around the bust which can be worn in the front or back. HDH swim is only available in solid colors or color-blocked solids, which makes mixing and matching that much easier. Summersalt

Color-blocked & Printed Size Inclusive Sustainable Swimwear

Summersalt designs have a ton of color-blocking and fun prints, and come in a variety of different styles. Most sustainable swimwear brands have few modest options, but Summersalt offers lots of mid-rise, high-rise and one-piece styles that aren’t too cheeky or high cut. Summersalt swim is made with recycled polyamide, which is another word for nylon. Similar to ECONYL, recycled polyamide is made from things like recycled fishing nets and manufacturing waste. Summersalt has clear fit guidelines for each product, outlining the bust support, butt coverage, and compression fit.

Versatile Made To Order Size Inclusive Sustainable Swimwear

This Black Owned business makes all of their swimwear pieces to order to prevent waste. I love the effort Mitra puts into styling their pieces in a variety of ways, too! Though the bikini above looks like a typical triangle bikini top, it can be styled in six different ways. Versatility is another important (and often overlooked) aspect of sustainable fashion!

Ethically Made Minimalist Swimwear

Londre body wear is brand I’ve seen a ton of on Instagram (including from some of my fav fellow sustainable fashion bloggers like Cat and Sally). Their suits are minimalist and they come in timeless stripes and solids. Their swimwear is made from recycled plastic bottles and are ethically manufactured in Vancouver, BC.

Size Inclusive Sustainable Swimwear For Everyone

Saltwater Collective swim has a TON of options in terms of styles. They have tankini tops, triangle tops, and supportive tops. They have high rise, low rise, and high cut bottoms. And the Saltwater Collective one pieces are fun, too! If you are looking for a variety of styles, this is a great place to look. All Saltwater Collective swimwear is made from ECONYL recycled nylon.

Mara Hoffman

Sustainable Swimwear With Bold Prints & Unique Silhouettes

Mara Hoffman suits are made from REPREVE recycled polyester (mostly from post-consumer plastic bottles) and ECONYL recycled nylon from fishing nets, industrial plastic waste and fabric scraps. They are made in the US and are designed to last. Though incredibly expensive for swimwear, these suits are as high quality as you can get – Mara Hoffman is a designer after all.

Ethical & Empowering Size Inclusive Sustainable Swimwear

LDLA is all about empowerment. They have a unique size range – a size medium is called “Athena”, a size 2X is called “Aphrodite”. Every style is modeled by two different people for their product photos, so you can see how the styles fit on different bodies! Their swimwear is ethically made in Los Angeles and their suits are made from recycled nylon.
