Boots: Everlane Glove Boot ReKnit in Bone

I have been looking for Elaine Welteroth inspired white boots for as long as Elaine Welteroth has been wearing white boots. (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out the former Teen Vogue EIC rocking her signature white boots here and here and here) After searching high and low, online and in thrift stores, I couldn’t find white boss boots that supported my values. I wanted these boots to be sustainably and ethically made and cute.
When Everlane launched their Glove Boot Reknit I knew they were the boot of my dreams. They look trendy but in a timeless way. And they looked like something I could fit my high arched feet into. They are different enough from Elaine’s signature boots that they could become my own signature boots.

How do you clean the Glove Boots?
One question I get almost every time I wear these shoes is how I clean them. I avoided cleaning them for an unnecessary amount of time because I was afraid I’d mess them up, but these knit boots are actually surprisingly easy to clean. I take a damp reusable paper towel (a wash cloth or kitchen rag would work, too, but not a paper towel) and rub away any marks. So far I have only gotten scuff marks or dirt on these shoes so this method has worked, but since it’s a polyester-type material like some of my clothing I think a tide-to-go stick would do the trick if I get another kind of stain or mark on them in the future.
Everlane Glove Boot fit
They really do fit like a glove, especially around the ankles, which I love. As someone with somewhat consistently swollen ankles, I worried about the fit around the ankles being too tight or constricting, but they are the perfect mix between tight-fitting and not constricting. The knit material is supportive enough to feel like an actual boot, but flexible enough where movement is still easy. The bottom is sturdy and I don’t feel like my feet slip around in them. They also fit true to size which is great. I normally wear a 6.5 and got these in a 6.5. With other Everlane
Everlane Glove Boot dislikes
There are some things about these boots that I’m not a huge fan of. I am still incredibly confused as to whether or not I should wear socks with these shoes. At the moment my consensus is that you either wear tall socks that go right above the top of the boot or no socks. These boots are such a stretchy material that you can see ~every~ part of your foot through the material. They really mold to your feet, so you can see the lines of your socks if they aren’t taller socks. Last but not least, these boots get dirty very easily. This is bound to happen with white boots, but I am disappointed by how often it happens with this material.
All in all, I am a huge fan of these boots. They are the most expensive shoes I’ve ever purchased and the most versatile shoes I’ve ever purchased.
I have worn them to conferences, class, out to dinner, and am wearing them to a business casual interview today. My one worry is that they’ll wear out quickly. Especially with the rate at which I’ve been wearing them, I fear that these boots won’t last as long as a classic white leather boot a-la-Elaine Welteroth… but for now they are on a heavy rotation in my closet and are well worth the investment.

I really love them!
Love your review! I was wondering how the boots held up a year later? Are they still easy to clean? Did the knit loosen up? Do you still feel comfortable walking around all day in them, support wise?
The knit didn’t loosen at all! It’s still super stretchy and still holds my feet and ankles in place. They are quite easy to clean and still feel comfortable walking around! I will say sometimes it hurts my heel because the heel is pretty solid compared to the rest of the shoe but that’s quite common wearing heels or tall boots all day, not just with these. Hope this helps!
