Happy International Women’s day to all of my female readers (& non-female readers who support the women in their lives!). As I did my daily morning scroll through Instagram I came across a number of brands donating proceeds from their tees to women’s organizations and couldn’t help but share.
The Style Club – Women of the World
Today, 15% of each sale from The Style Club will be donated to Women of the World, a trusted service and capacity building organization for refugee, asylee, and immigrant women and girls. They have some great tees with empowering messages as well as art prints! Click on the photos below to shop & support Women of the World.
Lively – Support The Girls
Lively released this special edition tee that says “confidence starts here”. In their campaign on their Instagram Story they say “behind every badass woman is a confident heart” – and I love that message. 100% of the proceeds from this top today will be donated to Support The Girls, an organization that distributes donations of new & used bras and period supplies to homeless women and girls across North America. As Lively is a bra company, this cause is near and dear to their hearts, and I love that they’ve chosen to support such a meaningful cause on International Women’s Day!
Omaze – #Cut50 & Planned Parenthood
I talked about Omaze in my last ac(tee)vism post and love two of their newer campaigns. The Dignity tee supports #Cut50, and bipartisan organization that works to cut crime in all 50 states by translating local needs into smart safety solutions. In their description of the Dignity tee they discuss staggering statistics about incarcerated women that I have not heard before; “Did you know that 80% of incarcerated women in America are mothers? That 90% of women behind bars are survivors of sexual violence? Or that 2,000 women give birth behind bars every year?”. #Cut50 is starting a conversation about incarceration in the United States and is creating change in communities around the country.
I’m sure by now you’ve all seen “Nasty Woman” tees, but Omaze is selling “Still Nasty” tees that support Planned Parenthood. By selling these shirts, the organizing group has already donated $1 million to Planned Parenthood.
Everlane – Equality Now
$5 from any of the shirts in this Everlane 100% Human collection goes directly to Equality Now, an “international human rights organization dedicated to action for the civil, political, economic and social rights of girls and women”. I’ve talked about these tees plenty of times before (read the entire ac(tee)vism post here) but they deserve to be included in this post, too!
