I’ve been talking a lot lately on the blog about why thrifting is awesome and why you should shop secondhand, so I’m going to keep this post short and sweet!
I am a total tag sale junkie. I grew up going to local tag sales with my family, and could spend all day looking through piles of stuff to find hidden treasures. Though I’ve recently branched out to flea markets and estate sales as well, family run tag sales will always have a special place in my heart. Last weekend my family and I went a little bit sale crazy, stopping at three tag sales and two estate sales all in one morning. I instantly gravitate toward clothing during tag sales. No matter how high they are piled or how neatly they are hung on racks, I love looking through clothes.
The tag sale I got this bag from was a mother/daughter duo local tag sale. They had table after table of old coca cola bottles and trinkets and books. They only had one section of a table dedicated to clothing and accessories, but I was able to score this wicker bag, another woven bag and a vintage dress all for $10. I love the woven/wicker bag trend for Spring and Summer but was not ready to drop $100+ on an ethically made one. These two bags were TOTAL scores and I was thrilled when I got them. Finding these bags at a tag sale for this cheap was just another reminder of why it’s so much better to shop for trendy items secondhand.
Our last tag sale of the day was “what a Martha Stewart tag sale would look like” according to my mother. There was a bike on the front lawn with balloons tied to it and a chalkboard sign with “tag sale this way” written on it. There were little fabric flags hanging along the porch of the house, and the driveway was full of little curated displays of things for sale. This dress was hanging on a rack with an adorable little handmade price tag tied around it. It’s from H&M, I loved the texture of the fabric, and it was only $5! I also found a unique J. Crew puffer jacket (which looking back I will not get much use out of in LA) that was floral printed and actually cute.
All in all take this post as a sign that tag sales are calling your name!! Go venture out in your neighborhood, support your neighbors & see what good finds are out there.

I love this so much. It’s really hard for me to buy something from a traditional store anymore. I have been thrifting up a wazoo, but it’s been a while since I’ve been to someone’s personal sale and I must admit, I miss it! It’s always so awesome to see an item passed directly from one user to another!

Exactly! As fun as it is to actually go shopping in a thrift store, I love the personal connection you can make with an item’s previous owner at a tag sale. It’s something so rarely experienced these days!
